Welcome to the official website of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dover, NJ. We are a vibrant and diverse community dedicated to spreading the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our church is a place where everyone is welcome, and we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our members and the surrounding community.
OUR VISION
Building God’s Kingdom by Grace. We are a faith-based church, centered in community, and led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all we do. Everything we build is not by our own strength, but by God’s grace working through us. This vision is rooted in Zechariah 4:6 (NRSV), which declares: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” With this as our foundation, we move forward with bold faith, open hearts, and a passion to see lives transformed for God’s glory.
OUR THEME
At our church, we believe in being a TEAM—Together, we live out the mission of the Gospel through Tithing, Evangelism, Attendance, and Ministry & Mission. We tithe to faithfully fund the church (Malachi 3:10), evangelize to grow the church and reach the lost (Matthew 28:19), attend regularly to gather in fellowship and encouragement (Hebrews 10:24–25), and serve in ministry and mission to be the church in action (Acts 2:45). Each part matters, and together, we are committed to building God’s Kingdom as one united body.
OUR COMMUNITY
The Mt. Zion Baptist Church community is made up of individuals from all walks of life, and we value the diversity and unique gifts each person brings. Together, we create a supportive and caring community where everyone can feel at home and experience the love of God in tangible ways.
